Fixtures
As Leeds United embark on their quest for promotion in the 2024-25 EFL Championship season, the fixture list presents a demanding yet exciting journey for Daniel Farke and his squad. The campaign kicks off at Elland Road against newly promoted Portsmouth in August, a fixture that will set the tone for the season ahead. With the home crowd behind them, Leeds will be eager to make an early statement of intent. Tough tests follow quickly, including crucial matchups against promotion rivals such as Sheffield United, Burnley, Luton Town, as well as League 1 promoted teams including Portsmouth, Oxford and the old foe in the form of Derby County. The festive period could also prove pivotal, with a run of demanding fixtures in quick succession that could define the Whites’ standing heading into the new year.
Away days in the Championship are always unpredictable, and Leeds will face a number of tricky trips to hostile grounds throughout the campaign. With games like Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, and a locally charged clashes at Hillsborough against Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield United at Bramall Lane, will test the squad’s resilience. Farke’s experience in navigating the Championship will be crucial, as the team must find consistency both at home and on the road. The final stretch of the season is equally challenging, with the hope that the team will face key fixtures against both automatic promotion and play-off hopefuls through to the potentially decisive final-day trip to Plymouth Argyle in May 2025. If Leeds are still in the promotion race by then, that long journey to Home Park could carry enormous significance.
For the fans, every match represents a step toward redemption and a return to the top flight. I'm sure Elland Road will remain a fortress, with the crowd pushing the team forward in every home game, while the traveling supporters will bring their undoubtedly unwavering passion to away grounds across the country. The road to promotion is never easy, but with the right mix of talent, determination, and tactical acumen, Leeds United has every reason to believe that this season could end in celebration. With each fixture bringing new challenges and opportunities, all eyes will be on Farke’s men as they fight to bring Premier League football back to LS11!
