Leeds U23s v Newcastle 23rd April 2019 Premier League Cup Semi-Final at Nethermoor, Guiseley

Despite Leeds losing the semi-final 3-0 which I put down to me jinxing it (sorry), it was nice to go and see the game. After the pressures of the Championship it was a refreshing change and there were lots of familiar faces there to support the team in a sellout crowd of 3,051. It was a real family occasion for me taking my daughter Danielle and granddaughters Hannah, Laura and Alexis with. I managed to take a photo of the girls with Bielsa and he lifted Alexis onto the barrier so she could be seen which was great. I said to him, “Please stay whatever happens.” His translators who were with him were nodding in agreement. In attendance were my two sisters Erica and Karin, nephew Mark, niece Sonya, children Tommy and Vinnie with friends, Martin, Simon, Jessica and Tom. It was nice chatting to fans at the game and unfortunately for the pheasant, its trip to the ground ended tragically with a broken neck after hitting the stand roof before landing in front of my sisters.

Now it is back to the realities of the last couple of games where we take on Villa at Elland Road. See you there – LUFC – Marching on Together.
